Most of the central characters live or work in The Heights. This is where the coffee shop, Oppiekoffie, and the boutique, Eclectic are situated, as well as a few flats. The building belongs to successful business woman, Zandile Mdikane.
Bart Kruger has a funky deli and is responsible for the catering of most functions in Hillside. And just around the corner is Ryno Lategan’s bookshop where Emma le Roux works. Proud and snobbish Madel Terreblanche, owner of the successful and lucrative sports shop, Theron & Terreblanche, is the matriarch of the series. She has three children, Christelle, Jan-Hendrik and Tiaan. Jan-Hendrik and Tiaan rivals for power in the business while their cousin, Carlos Perestrelo is also as major share holder.
There are beautiful young things, there are handsome hunks, there are golden oldies, they are in all the colours of the Rainbow nation and the country can simply not get enough of them!
