Castle Premiership side Orlando Pirates have acquired the services of the relatively unknown Chris O'Loughlin as the new assistant coach to Bibey Mutombo. The club's Communications Manager Mickey Modisane said that O'Loughlin joined the 'Buccaneers' on a recommendation from the coach. "The coach rates him very highly and it was from his recommendation that we hired him," said Modisane. "I can tell you that his coaching credentials are very impressive and I believe he could complement the coach's style." He added that Papi Khomane - who assisted Mutombo last season - will remain part of the club's technical team until the Chairman [Irvin Khoza] says otherwise. Khomane led the Pirates Reserves to the inaugural 2007 Reserve League title and he could again be the man tasked with the reserve team managerial responsibilities. |
